Carolina Lolas was born in Santiago de Chile in 1975. She studied Plastic Arts at the Universidad de Concepción and received her degree with title memorandum on Mapuche Jewelry (2004), research called NeoMapuche Goldsmith, which delves into the changes of the traditional jewelry of the Mapuche indigenous people. After her degree, she began to give jewelry classes in different formal institutions such as the extension centers of the Universidad de Concepción (2004) and the University of Antofagasta (2008), in her personal workshop and non-formal institutions. In 2008 she traveled to France to perfect her knowledge of arts at the Jean Jaures Toulouse II University and she received a bachelor's degree in Plastic Arts, Applied Arts, contemporary drawing. In (2011) a master's degree in Plastic Arts - Applied Arts, mention of digital creation and direction of artistic projects of high technical complexity and technology. Back in Chile (2012), she resumed her career as a contemporary artist, with a line of creation that integrates multiple disciplines oriented to sculpture. The jewelry is transformed into a fundamental discipline in its artistic creation, an expressive specialty that allows it to enrich its artistic language. In (2013) Lolas is awarded in the art contest Piensa en cobre, of the Minera Pelambres and the MAC (Museum of Contemporary Art), with a series of pieces called Micro Sculptures, pieces of copper that break down the traditional shape of the ring and elevate it towards space. Since then the INMERSIVIDAD exhibition project has begun, where immersive ephemeral architecture is created, where the viewer is immersed in a utopia of nature and the hypothetical origins of life (2015-2018), these exhibition presentations contain pieces and works that they build a narrative about the theory of Panspermia, originated from a work of contemporary jewelry. So far they have been presented in the Biobío Region, Los Lagos Region and the Metropolitan Region of Chile.
